The Division of Applied Chemistry of College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering was founded in 2008. The division has now 4 faculty and staff members and 14 graduate students, including Professor Zengxi Li, Associate Professor Lijie Cui, Postdoctoral teaching fellows Zhiguo Zhang and Erqiang Wang.
Main research fields:
● Catalytic Reaction Engineering, Catalyst Engineering ;
The investigation of new catalytic materials, the properties of surfaces, new catalytic reactions, and catalyst characterization techniques. Preparation of the materials, catalytic technology, reaction mechanisms and kinetics.
● Environmental protection, effective recycling of solid wastes and liquids;
● Efficient use of biomass to produce fuel and chemicals;
● Clean and high efficiency thermal conversion of energy and fuels;
● Numerical simulation of particle systems;
● Chemical process modeling, simulation and optimization;
● Experimental and simulation research on new coal chemical industry process;
Up to now, more than 90 papers have been published in journals, among which 50 papers were published in the SCI/EI citation journals. Some national patents have been awarded.
The Division of Applied Chemistry has over the years established many co-operative relationships with other research groups regarding on academic exchange, staff training and co-operative research programs, which strengthen its research ability and access to resources. In summer semester of each year many domestic and international first-class experts and professors will be invited to visit our campus and give academic lectures.
