The researches of polymer physics and chemistry division are focusing on the synthesis, properties and applications of polymer materials, including synthesis and self-assembly of novel co- or branch polymers, organic-inorganic hybrid materials, biomaterials, functional polymer materials for adsorbent, catalyst support, and their applications in environment and energy related fields.

Researches areas include the supermolecular materials, biodegradation materials based on the block-copolymers (BCPs) and related assembling mechanism.
Asso. Prof. Cunyue Guo
Researches areas include syntheses of heteroatom-based ligands and their complexes with transition metal; examination of the complexes’ catalytic activities in the oligo-/polymerization of ethylene and the copolymerization of ethylene with polar monomers; preparation of heterogeneous ethylene polymerization catalysts for producing lower molecular weight α-olefins and polyolefin composites with increased molecular weight, broader molecular weight distribution, and superior impact strength; Syntheses of long-chain branched PP with high melt strength suitable for foaming in supercritical CO2.
