Course Description:
The course is designed for the students who specialize in polymer chemistry and polymer physics. Functional polymer is a professional foundation course of graduate students of polymer and polymer materials. The course involves not only synthesis and applications of some functional polymers including super absorbent resin, polymer membrane materials, reactive polymer, conductive polymer, electrically activated polymer, photosensitive polymer, liquid crystal polymer and biomedical polymer, but also emphasizes the relationships of design method, structure, property and application. The students should master synthesis method, design ideas of functional polymer and advances and challenges in functional polymers, which lays the foundation for engaging scientific research in the future.
