Course Description:
This subject is regarded as basic course for graduate in chemical engineering direction. Its primary contents are modeling of chemical process, principle of optimization and the application in chemical process. After studying it, you should be able to construct chemical process optimized model, understand the basic principle of optimization theory, design chemical process by various simulation and optimization tools, based on some factors, such as, technique, economy, environment, and so on, to make a strong foundation for the future.

Chapter 1 Introduction, including the essence of optimization and its application in the chemical process, the development of optimization model, the establishment of the objective function Chapter 2 Optimization theory and methods, including the basic concept of optimization, unconstrained optimization problem by the one-dimensional search, unconstrained optimization problem with multi-parameters Chapter 3 Optimization theory and methods, linear programming and its applications Chapter 4 Optimization theory and methods, constrained nonlinear programming Chapter 5 Optimization theory and methods, mixed-integer linear programming Chapter 6 Optimization theory and methods, mixed-integer nonlinear programming
