Course Description:
The course is a specialized core course for graduates in chemical engineering and technical subjects. Students are expected to obtain the knowledge of the software system and hardware system of computers, as well as computer numerical method and knowledge about programming, MATLAB, etc. Students are also expected to apply what they learn to the research of process engineering. The purpose of the course is to cultivate students’ ability to solve problems in process engineering via computer means.
Course Content:
Chapter 1 Introduction and How Computers Work General situation of the development of computers; Computer classification and application; Computer architecture and the function of major components; Function and classification of computer software; System software and application software; Main performance of computers Chapter 2 Basis of Software of Computers Overview of computer software system; Data structure basis(queue, stack, tree, lookup, sort, file organization); Features of several programming languages(Fortran、C、C++、Java); Overview of operating system and some common operating systems (DOS, Windows, Unix/Linux); Database system; Software development method and the overview of software engineering. Chapter 3 Computer Numerical Method and Programming Research objects and features of computer numerical method; Equation and numerical solution of linear equation systems, interpolation, simulation and numerical integration, equation and numerical solution of ordinary differential equation, and the programming of above methods Chapter 4 Special Subject of the Application of Computers in Process Engineering
